Flotilla Staff Officer - Member Training

 

 

Don Hoge FSO-MT

 

 

 

The Flotilla Staff Officer for Member Training (FSO-MT) coordinates and monitors training requirements and opportunities in order for members acquire greater knowledge in the wide variety of activities in which we may participate.  In general, these include operations, member services, recreational boating safety, and CG operational support. Specifically, members should contact the FSO-MT concerning training for certification as crewmember, coxswain, operational excellence (OE) and any air program training; for team coordination training (TCT), incident command system (ICS) training, quality examinations (QE) scheduling, proctored testing, workshops, and specialty training (AUXOP).

 

  • Buddy Casale and Tom Loughlin are scheduled to take SC&E during NACON in Orlando in August.

 

  • Seven members are registered to take the APC course.  Two have already passed the test after attending only one night of classes.

 

  • ICS210 is required by DHS for SURLs (coxswains and pilots) by 31MAR09.  Training plans have not yet been made.

 

  • Two, possibly three coxswain QE checks may be accomplished ICW OE operations 30AUG – 01SEP
