BOATING

SKILLS & SEAMANSHIP

What kind of boat do I want?  What equipment do I need? Do I want to trailer my boat? These are some of the questions prospective and new boaters ask. In this course we address these questions as well as others that you may have. You’re already a boater but still a novice? We can help you by teaching basic boat handling, reviewing your “Highway Signs” and learning who has the right of way. We will also look at the “Rules You Must Follow”; know when you’re wrong when you think you’ve done everything right. In this class we go the extra mile in presenting material most courses don’t. Ever wonder what to do when your “GPS” fails?  Paper Charts, what do they show and how do we read them. We offer basic navigation and “Hands On” plotting. If all this material isn’t enough, tie along with us as we practice boating knots. This class consists of 7 evenings for 2 hrs each night. Completion of this course earns a Florida State Certification Card.
